Precision Paddling Program FAQs

Precision Paddling Program FAQs

Precision Paddling is for women OC1 paddlers who want to achieve noticeable changes in technique. You’ll need at least some experience on an OC1 because the course is not a learn-to-paddle course.

You’ll need to spend time on an OC1 weekly.

See the program schedule. This program is for you if:

  • You want a structure that leads to noticeable changes in your technique, not just understanding ideas or well-meaning explanations.
  • You have limited time to paddle your OC1, but you set aside focused time each week.
  • You have access to flat water and want to commit time each week to being technical and developing your movement awareness.
  • You want to stop just “going for a paddle” or doing the same lousy reps and intervals over and over again.
  • You are willing to change your approach and can make room to do things differently.
  • You want the support of a coach to discuss, troubleshoot, and problem-solve your progression with you.
  • You want to discuss paddling and share your celebrations and challenges with other paddlers who are focused on growth.

No. This is not a theoretical course — this is an experiential course — you are learning through trying, practicing, and sharing your experience.

This is not a passive learning environment — you need to train on your OC1 at least once a week and interact online with the other paddlers and the coach.

This is not a comprehensive or periodized training program. It is, however, a great complement to your current team or OC1 training.

  • OC1
  • Paddle
  • Leash
  • GPS
  • Four additional training tools will cost between $40-$90, if you don’t already have them. You’ll get specifics upon joining what you need.
  • You’ll need a laptop, desktop, OR smartphone to access program content and join the coaching calls. The program platform, Circle, includes an app which you can choose to use.

Yes! If you can’t attend the calls live, they will be recorded, and you can submit questions beforehand. We really encourage that you attend the calls live, because you will get to dialogue with Anna to support your learning, but we understand that sometimes you can’t

Yes! Precision Paddling is not a comprehensive or periodized training program. However, it is an excellent complement to your current team or OC1 training and will improve your technique so that your other training will be even more effective!

If you can’t join your group’s coaching call, you’ll be able to send questions in advance and watch the session recording.

This is not focused on Dragon Boat outcomes. This is a structured program where you will engage with the coach regularly to monitor your progress and improvement.

If you have been to camp or to a Technique Tune up or other workshop with Anna, this program is different because it’s like training your technique in an ongoing way with Anna.

Precision Paddling is a fantastic way to continue to build the skills and techniques you learned in Anna’s other programs.
